Does it pass the sniff test? Affiliate marketers read this to understand why you aren’t getting sales conversions

"Something stinks" I said.

One of our members, let’s call him Bob, asked me to take a look at his advertising campaign for his Affiliate marketing program.
He’d spent a lot of money on advertising specifically solo ads, he was getting "sign ups" or leads but none were converting.
He’d been at if for some time, watching, waiting for some kind of return. He wasn’t a newbie either, he’d been doing online marketing for a few years. Finally in frustration he came to me for help.

I am sharing with you what I found, so you can avoid making the same mistakes and know what to look for when you buy advertising to promote your own affiliate marketing links.

First, I took a look at his Solo Ad copy. It was well written, got to the point, punchy, benefit – rich and enticed the reader to click for a Special Free Offer.
No problems with his Solo Ad copy whatsoever.

Next, I looked at the landing page he was using in his marketing, he had 3 different test versions and was tracking clicks on each. Each landing page (squeeze page) was well written, employed all the essentials of good copy writing, attention getting headlines, call to action, clear benefits, compelling offer, simple sign up / optin form.

Then I reviewed his click rate data for each page. He had a significant number of clicks with an interesting pattern. When the landing page was promoted in his Solo Ad, the clicks came in within seconds and minutes and hour of the posting, then stopped completely. No clicks at all after about an hour of the ad posting. Let me share some experience with you, as a company we spend thousands of dollars on advertising, and I can tell you that when we post an ad, especially to a list, we get leads for the next few days, even the next week. The responses don’t abruptly stop within an hour of the posting. The ad may go out in a few minutes, but the recipients don’t check / read their emails at the same time.

Next I turned to his list of leads. The leads when viewed as a long list was revealing. There was a suspicious pattern. They had very similar entry data, first initial only and a last name. Then some with a Name that was exactly the same as the email address. Some were entered in all capital letters, while others had the same style of abbreviations. Odd. I’ve been in the affiliate marketing industry for over 25 years, I can tell you one fact about data entry. Numerous people don’t enter data in the very same way, and rarely on a list of 100 leads would you see the exact same or very similar data entry pattern.

Here’s the real eye-opener.

When I analyzed if any of these "sign ups" had done anything after they entered their name / email to the optin form, I found that NONE of these leads had taken any further action. By action I mean, they didn’t login, they didn’t take the next step to "GET" what they had opted in to, or signed up for. Strange. If you are like me, when you "Sign up" for something you usually take (or are required) to take further action to verify the optin, or click to access the provided services, or login to collect on what you were offered and signed up for. Even if you are not like me, you would think that at least SOME of the leads / sign ups would "do" something, not one did. Why?

These leads didn’t pass the sniff test.

I broke it to Bob. The sign ups were fake, either generated by a robot, or a software auto click program, or spit out by a randomized database of names / addresses/ spoofed IP addresses. The leads are delivered in large numbers quickly to make the buyer happy. His reason for no conversion? The leads weren’t real people, robots and fake names don’t buy.

Finally, I asked Bob, where he had placed the Solo Ads. When he told me the source where he had been posting, the gig was up. He had been using a source that our experience and testing shows is a complete waste of money.

In all of the years I have know Linda, I can share with you one thing that is constant and true. This lady never gives up! Perhaps that is a major factor that contributes to her success and one that people can learn from. When Linda came to us eight years ago she didn’t have instant success. She floundered and fumbled with what was a new, unfamiliar business model. She was not a techie, she got frustrated and she nearly walked away several times. But Linda saw the value and power of Worldprofit’s system, having tried so many others before without success, she knew she could master it if she was patient and took the time to learn. She had coaching and support every step of the way from Worldprofit’s support team. Today Linda is the Sales Champion for 2016.

How does she do it? Linda works her business every day, she understands the value of focus, and she has a positive attitude. She has fine-tuned her skills as a business owner understanding the importance of connecting with people and offering a helping hand. Linda has learned by following Worldprofit’s training program, that the growth of her business depends on constant promotion, ongoing attention to lead generation, traffic and list building. Question. Linda, what advice do you have for new Worldprofit Members to get off to the best possible start?

Answer: My advice is to follow George Kosch’s bootcamp training and join all the safelists and traffic exchanges in 20+ traffic streams and use them everyday…also join more…more is better..watch my video in the Member area .. I recorded it a while ago but I still do this now the same way, the same formula.

Question: What are some of your daily habits that have contributed to your success and achievement?

Answer: Everyday I login to my member area at Worldprofit and use the tools and training offered…I also help the monitors who are taking care of my customers and closing my sales.

Question. What are some of the resources provided by Worldprofit that you rely on the most to help you grow your online business?

Answer: The things I rely on most are the ad copy…ad tracker…support from Worldprofit..the monitors ..and tools in the back office like the Virtual Sales Assistant. Everything a member needs is in one place, another advantage of Worldprofit. If you spend time digging away you’ll be impressed with all that is included… no need to go elsewhere.

Question: For those Members who are making sales now but want to make MORE sales, any advice ?

Stick with it. Don’t give up. Success is earned.

His net worth is reported to be about 4.5 billion. Much of his wealth has been acquired from real estate investments.

The Trump name (his brand) is recognizable around the world. He’s even got a luxury mattress with his Trump label.

Business Note: BRANDING is just as important for online business owners and entrepreneurs.

1. Start with a primary site that summarizes all your business activities. Brand your site to include your logo, your name, your picture, your business name, your business philosophies. What does branding do? It makes you recognizable, it makes your products and services identifiable, it builds trust and adds credibility to your business operations.

2. Start a blog, or several blogs related to your specific niche market. Carry over to all your blog properties, your branding identifiers (logo, name etc). Start adding VALUE to your blog by adding key-word rich content related to your niche market. Be sure everything on your blog including videos and images and articles is about your market, your business, your niche and make it speak directly to your buyers and prospective buyers.

3. Create back links between all your online website properties for the purpose of traffic, and for search engine optimization. Then work on getting backlinks from other sites through postings, directory sites, blog commenting and so on.

4. Create your Facebook Fan page for your business, be consistent with your branding.
Learn about how to market on Facebook and tap into a captive audience of millions.

5. Create your Social Media accounts, YouTube Channel, Google+, Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram etc., with share links so your content can easily be shared by your followers. Don’t be shy. Be a unabashed self promoter. Tweet, post, video, often with valuable content related to your niche, your speciality, your products and services. Rule of thumb, post often.

6. Create your own email marketing list(s) using optin newsletter services like that offered at Aweber, MailChimp and Get Response. Create specific lists for prospects and for buyers.
A house email list is a major source of income. Suscribers are real people who have joined your list and agree to receive your offers. So make them good ones! The money to be made by having your own list is mind boggling. Everytime you post an offer to your list should be money made from incoming sales. Don’t have your own large list yet? Buy solo ads in other people’s established good quality lists. Be sure to use some type of Ad Tracking tool so you know where your hits are coming from and you can just the power of the ad copy and the effectiveness of the advertising source.

7. Investigate expanding your online real estate to include ownership of your own Safelist. By being an owner you can use leverage to make deals, make offers, promote your own products and services, and sell advertising in our safelist. 8. Become an Ebook Author. It is incredibly easy to create your own ebook. It’s one of the easiest ways to get your name out there as an authority, or as an expert on a specific topic. It doesn’t matter if it’s gardening tips, dog training expertise, money making strategies, golf practice tips, beauty tips, cooking tips etc. If you have a knowlege about anything related to your business, you should write an ebook. The How-To and Do it Yourself industry is alive and well online – AND profitable. Find your niche, then make money from it. Create a website for your Ebook, this is yet another of your online properties.

9. Learn what landing pages are so you can create lead capture pages for your specific products and services. Use your brand, target your niche to generate leads constantly. Always include offers on you landing pages to motivate ACTION. In general, people respond more often to free, no-risk offer lead pages, than instant sale product pages. Landing pages can net you leads and OPT-INS to your newsletter/subscriber list even if the prospect doesn’t buy your marketing has been effective.

10. If you are at all technical then take a look at digital businesses for sale. Flippa.com is a website that lists online businesses for sale. There you can buy and sell websites, domains, and apps. Check it out. It’s quite possible someone has already created what you want and you can buy it and take it over. Be an App creator, be a blogger, be a website designer, offer social media account management for business, handle SEO for businesses, put your services for sale on Fiverr.com. It’s endless how much money you can make online if you have a specialized or technical skill or expertise. This is get another source of income for you, another property income source!

11. Create your own Amazon or Ebay Storefront. Create this within your domain name, not an Ebay store using anyone else’s name but yours. In your storefront promote products related to your niche market and your business. For example, if you are in the dog grooming business for sell products related such as dog food, collars, books on dogs, fashion for dogs, Pet GPS trackers, pet insurance, and so forth.

12. Consider well known affiliate marketing sites like Worldprofit, ClickBank, JV Zoo. You promote the products to generate sales and the companies handle the ordering and delivery and customer service. In the case of JV Zoo and ClickBank, you can also become a product developer and get your product in their marketplace. You then pay affiliates a percentage of the sales they generate. Appreciate the enormous potential of online income by having multiple streams of income. Stop thinking like a small time affiliate marketer and start thinking like a real estate tycoon. To do this you need a system for earning online, a plan for the development of your properties, and a continuous source of revenue from a variety of sources.
