In a Biz op or doing Affiliate Marketing? 5 SHOCKING REASONS why you aren’t getting any leads.

1. You are promoting a website and not a Landing Page, also known as a Squeeze page.

To generate leads you need an eye-popping landing page. It’s exactly what it sounds like. You promote your landing page, people LAND on it, see your offer and provide you with their contact info so they can get more details on what you offer. Your standard website simply can’t accomplish this effectively, usually websites are too busy, to generic, too "professional." In contrast a landing page SCREAMS benefit! It tells readers what they will get (SOMETHING AWESOME) but they must act now! Landing pages are FILLED with benefits, short punchy copy that gets attention. Landing pages include a limited time offer, they include a form that needs to be completed in order to get the offer. Guess what you are doing with that lead form? YES! You are generating a LEAD, and getting the follow up info you need to provide the requested material/product, then follow up, and build your house list for sending future offers to that person. Did you catch that last part about list building? I slipped that in an the end, but it is IMPORTANT. A Landing Page must ALWAYS ALWAYS give readers the option to SUBSCRIBE to your newsletter/or future offers. You’ve worked hard to generate that lead so do your best to offer them the chance to receive future offers or mailings from you.

2. Your promotional copy is boring and dull.

In case you haven’t noticed you’ve got oodles of competition out there. The web is filled with gizmos and gadgets. Your copy needs to get noticed or it will die a quick death in the email trash folder. Whether your offer is an email offer, or a landing page, or an online post, you have got to lead with a powerful headline, and follow that up with copy that keeps people reading. Most affiliate companies provide you with excellent copy or banners for promotion. Don’t try to rewrite something better if that is not your strong suit, use what they provide, copy, paste send. Simplify.

3. You haven’t made an offer.

If you want to get leads you MUST, MUST, MUST make an offer. Whatever your pitch is REWARD the person reading it for taking action – NOW – TODAY – in the next 24 hours! Instill excitement and a sense of urgency. You’ve got a great product or offer right? You don’t want people clicking off any moving on to something else. You want and MUST get people to read and RESPOND to your offer. Give them reasons to do so. Don’t know what to offer? Check for online products and affiliates that include Private Label and resell rights, if they do you can use those as leverage in your offers. By adding these you can convert a luke-warm offer into one that is HOT, HOT, HOT.

4. You aren’t marketing in the right places to the right people.

A lot of people new to online marketing make the mistake of spending money on advertising or leads that never produce results. Taking shortcuts and buying mass leads or mass lists simply doesn’t work. I am going to say that again. If you think you will generate QUALITY leads by buying mass lists, visitors, subscribers or hits, stop right now. Sorry to tell you the harsh truth, but building an online business means finding the best places to advertise that target YOUR market. Hint: Google is NOT the place to start if you have a small budget. In the business opportunity market you will want to look at Safelist marketing, Traffic Exchanges, Solo Ads, Ad Swaps, and email marketing providers like Aweber and GetResponse. Your budget for online promotion doesn’t have to be huge but you will get the best results with paid ads at reputable sources. Do your homework.

5. You are so busy copy, pasting and promoting you have forgotten one of the most important rules in business.

Personality can make all the difference. Connecting with people is the key to making sales. In your zest to build your online business, don’t forget to be a REAL PERSON. Include your name, email address, skype number, facebook etc on your ad copy to provide people with assurance that you are more than a promoter, you are an online business owner. Anything you can do to stand out and separate yourself from all the other offers out there helps.

Lisa, can you share a little bit about you? Your background? Experience?

Working in the Utility sector, as an Operator, evolving technology assured me a new learning experience. My familiarity with computers and the internet, at the time, were nil. HMI, PLC, IT; it was all Greek to me. That was my introduction to the Internet, and what a valuable service a Programmer provided. The ability to access your operations from across the continent, if need be, to resolve glitches. I would say I happened across Worldprofit as more of an interest in learning about website hosting, and online instructional learning from a volunteer aspect, rather than looking to make money online, or start a home-based business. Worldprofit seemed to encompass my original interests, and, as well, I found the perfect avenue to supplement my future retirement.

Lisa, how long have you been with Worldprofit? What keeps you motivated?

I have been with Worldprofit for (8) years now. My motivation stems from enjoyment of the continual learning curve, having access to a great, supportive community, and recognizing that Worldprofit has all the provisions for building a solid, long-term, sustainable income source, which will benefit future generations.

Can you tell us Lisa, are there any specific tools or resources provided by Worldprofit that you use to build your business or improve your understanding of online marketing?

Although it was a major hurdle for me to overcome, I had the privilege of being taught just how important it was to effectively communicate with each individual to ascertain the benefits Worldprofit could provide for them. In turn, I hope I am able to convey the same to future Monitors.

Lisa, based on your experience as a long time Member, do you have any suggestions for new Worldprofit members?

Oh yes, indeed. Listen to George Kosch. Do what George tells you to do. If (usually when, is more likely) you find yourself finally submitting a Support Ticket saying, “But George……..???” Just this simple act alone, on your part, to request help, and then TO DO what he tells you to do, you deserve a pat on the back for actually being willing to listen, and learn, “By George, He Was Right!”

Do you have a Daily Checklist or routine you rely on for growing your business? Lisa, what are your success habits?

I would have to say I use Linda Elze as my Role Model. I try to set aside time to promote on a daily basis, then check emails and correspondence. Those are my first considerations. I ensure I keep up to date with Bootcamp Training, and implement any new features’ that I feel will benefit me, in the future.

Lisa, what kinds of promotion do you find brings the best results?

Definitely the 20+ income/Traffic Streams, Fast-Track Visitors, and purchasing Solo Ads from various sources ie Udimi, or just sharing a link via Google+ , Twitter, or Facebook.

Using Video Marketing to Promote your Business.

Using video marketing is a great new way to promote your company, so read on to find out how to do it right.

Videos make your site more interactive but keep in mind that they are not an ideal solution for your search engine optimization campaign. You can optimize your videos by choosing descriptive titles filled with keywords and adding a transcript or a summary of the content of the video you want to feature.

People love tutorial videos so it is important to use them if you can. Walking people through how to do a certain task with clear and precise steps will most likely land you more viewers. People really appreciate it when you make the steps as simple and easy as possible.

When using video marketing, it’s important that you realize that your viewers likely have short attention spans. Therefore, you don’t have long to attract their attention. The first 10 to 15 seconds of each video should be the strongest. This is where a special point-of-view or teaser can help captivate them to watch the whole video.

The content of your video is king. If it’s not fun to watch and providing great information, why would anyone watch it? You have to sit down and dedicate the bulk of your time to coming up with content which people actually wish to find and view so that your video becomes popular.

Encourage your viewers to comment on your video and share it with friends. The more buzz your video generates, even if it is slanted negatively, can be very advantageous. Sharing the video helps spread your message to other people with no effort on your part, and people are more likely to view something sent from a friend.

Consider doing reviews for products you are promoting if you are involved in affiliate marketing, then include a purchase link. Be direct and honest, and brief. Deliver the benefits of the product and how it can help the consumer.

If you or your company offers products, services or software do one video for each. This will help you with niche marketing, key word search returns in search engines for the content you offer including the product name or service as well as your company.

How to and information based videos are very popular and valuable for key word search matches for what you offer.

In your video marketing, let the viewer know why it is that you offer the product or service that you do. They can easily see what you offer, but let them know the reason behind it. Open, authentic and candid communication engenders trust, which engages new audience and retains previous buyers.

Pay attention to the analytic charts regarding your videos. You can see things like how many video views you have, when it is viewed and where the traffic comes from. These findings will give you more information on your niche and help you improve your campaign.

Offer your visitors something worthwhile such as a demonstration of how to do something or how to use a product. By offering relevant information, your visitors are more apt to visit your website, which could in turn result in a sale.

Include a lead form with your videos so people who would like more information can easily provide their contact information so you can follow up and assist ideally leading to a business relationship.
